Introduction to Morning Meditation
Hello everybody, For today’s post I wanted to discuss something I’ve been thinking about for a while now. Morning Meditation Rituals. Basically using meditation to start the day in the best way possible. This concept I have thought about for a long time. Using Meditation to help with waking up in the morning!
I have seen a couple of posts about this but there isn’t much about this directly that I have found. Like I think a lot of people must think if they meditate first thing in the morning after they wake up then they will just fall back asleep.
That’s what I think anyway but a lot of people do meditate in the morning which is a fact. I think first thing if you do it as soon as you wake up it might look a little bit odd especially if your in the bed next to somebody but lets just say that it is just you on your own. What ideas could you explore to help yourself wake up first thing with meditation.
My Own Morning Meditation Rituals
Now, I don’t do this every morning. I don’t even meditate every day if i’m being truthful. What I do is really just meditate when it suits me. This morning ritual though I have tried out a few times, and it has helped.
This is to sit up in my bed and mediate whilst stretching my arms and legs out. This is a good routine if you can find it. This will also include breathing exercises and sometimes making positive affirmations.
Usually mantras that reflect positive thinking.
Bare in mind though that meditating first thing in the morning can be very hard. For starters it is so easy to fall back to sleep. What I would I suggest maybe drag yourself out of bed and take a shower then begin your meditation. It isn’t quite like how I’ve said above but for me this is the best way to begin the day.
An article I have found helpful is this one;

Good Morning Meditation
Beginning your day with meditation has many benefits for both spirituality and focus. As, long as I feel well enough my perfect start to the day is taking a shower and finding a video on youtube to begin my day with.
10 Minute Guided Morning Meditation
For anybody looking to try something out themselves at home then I recommend this video on YouTube from a beautiful lady called Boho Beautiful. The video is called –

Other Ideas for Meditation in the Morning
If you wake up and are able to get about the door in the morning instead of going jogging, like a lot of people do, an idea to try is walking meditation. To find more about this you can read my last article but it is basically finding a straight path in a quiet place such as a field path or back lane taking a slow gentle walk whilst taking breathing exercises and emptying your head of all thoughts. Read my last article here.
Another idea is intention based meditation where you set yourself up for the rest of the day with a morning mantra.
Something like I am happy, free and I will remain positive for the rest of the day. I will not allow other people to upset as they may not mean to do so. I will get what I need to do done but if I don’t tommorrow is another day.
Yhis known as intention setting. It is a well known technique among meditation experts and is actually used quite often as a tool within guided meditation.
Finally another idea for meditation in the morning – if you can wake up to the birds and the morning chorus is to use your meditation to really take this moment to explore these sounds. By bringing your focus to the sounds of nature when everything is quiet whilst most other people are still asleep.
This only for very early risers though waking up at half 5 in the morning. Let me know if you can do this whilst staying awake lol
Final Thoughts
Mornings can be uncertain times for some with the whole day still yet to happen. Having a period of time to properly wake up, gather your thoughts and focus on the day ahead canm be a great thing.
Question yourself how is the best way to start the day. See how you can implement a morning meditation into this, and try to develop this into a routine. For somebody with a busy schedule that has to get up early most days I fully recommend this. Even for 10 minutes each day is very good for you.

I love the fact you say meditation is important because it is so much part of the balance in our bodies and mind. Your honesty is respected as well as many people say they do it every single day with no exception. You deal with the real world.
So I was taken with your idea of walking meditation. Even though I may do this I don’t think I have ever consciously thought of it in that way so that is a really helpful tip and I will do that in my walking goals of ten steps a day. I live by a great park so it is the perfect place to do that, full of nature, water and trees.
Thanks for your honest approach to meditation, I really appreciate it and you have inspired me!
Cheers, Phil. I actually did a post about walking meditation if you would like to check it out. I have given it a go a couple times. It was quite surreal really the last time as all of sudden like everything around me just started catching my attention. It was like a place i’m quite familiar with but yet still so much I never noticed before.
